How to Get to Jinyun Mountain

1. By Cable Car:

  • Take Chongqing Metro Line 6 (轻轨6号线) to Beibei Station (北碚站).
  • Walk about 200 meters to Wulukou Bus Stop (五路口公交站).
  • Board Bus 518 or Bus 520 to Jinyun Mountain Cable Car Station (缙云山索道公交站).
  • Ride the cable car to the scenic area entrance. From there, a short 30-minute hike will take you to the summit. Note that the cable car ride lasts about 30 minutes but only reaches the scenic area entrance, so additional hiking is required to explore the mountain fully.

2. By Bus:

  • Take Bus 520 directly to the terminal station, Jinyun Mountain Station (缙云山站).
  • Begin your hike from the scenic area entrance. This is a straightforward option for those who prefer to skip the cable car.

3. By Hiking:

  • Take Chongqing Metro Line 6 to Southwest University Station (西南大学站).
  • Walk about 100 meters to the South Gate Bus Stop of Southwest University (西南大学南门公交站).
  • Board Bus 585 and get off at Fitness Ladder Station (健身梯站).
  • Walk about 100 meters to the starting point of the Jinyun Mountain fitness trail (缙云山健身梯). This hiking route, favored by locals, begins on the mountain’s backside. Though the trail is longer and less developed, it offers a unique experience with bamboo forests, farmhouses, and even opportunities to enjoy local activities like playing mahjong.
Hiking Tips:

  • The hike takes approximately 3 hours.
  • Be cautious of the limited signage along the trail to avoid getting lost.
  • Bring snacks or eat beforehand, as there are limited food options near the trailhead. For dining, the area around Southwest University (西南大学) has plenty of delicious local food to try before starting your hike.
