How to Get to Nanshan Botanical Garden
Detailed Location: 101 Nanshan Park Road, Nanshan District, Chongqing (重庆市南岸区南山公园路101)
Public Transportation:
- Take Line 1 of the Chongqing Metro and exit at Xiao Shizi Station (小什字站) through Exit 5B. From here, take bus 346 to the Shangxin Street (上新街) bus stop (around 9 minutes).
- Then, transfer to bus 384 and ride directly to the Nanshan Station terminus (about 27 minutes). After alighting, walk approximately 100 meters to reach the botanical garden.
- Tip: Bus tickets cost ¥2, but be aware that the route for bus 384 is a bit winding, so those prone to motion sickness may want to take motion sickness medication in advance.
Private Cars: At the base and top of Shangxin Street, private cars offer rides for ¥10 per person. This is a great option for those who want to avoid crowded buses or are traveling with children or elderly companions.

After visiting the greenhouse, head left and descend the stairs to tour the camellia garden, rose garden, and cherry blossom viewing area. The cherry blossom avenue here is relatively quiet compared to other parts of the park.
Finally, cross a small bridge to explore the bonsai garden and the orchid garden. To avoid unnecessary detours, it’s best to retrace your steps through the Music Plaza to exit the park.
