Trail Overview
The 9 km loop begins at the Martyrs’ Cemetery Station (烈士墓站), following Zhuangzhi Road (壮志路), passing the Gele Mountain Cable Car entrance, and leading to sections like 911, Ji Gong Mountain (鸡公山), and Huoshao Mountain (火烧山), before returning through the scenic Meiyuan (梅园) and Lingyun Road (凌云路). The total elevation gain is 530 meters, with a mix of 30% rocky terrain, 10% cross-country paths, 10% trails, 20% smaller paths, and 30% roads. The hike generally takes between 3 to 5 hours, depending on pace.
Route Details
- Start at the Martyrs’ Cemetery Station Exit 2B, and walk up Zhuangzhi Road, passing the Hongyan Soul Square and Sichuan International Studies University. Continue to the Gele Mountain Cable Car entrance and take the stairs to the 911 section (a rock-climbing practice area).
- From the 911 section, follow the small path along the right side of the stone cliff, ascending to the left. After the ascent, descend to Lingyun Road.
- Turn right onto Lingyun Road and walk for a few hundred meters before entering a cross-country path on the opposite side. This path will lead you to Ji Gong Mountain.
- Descend to the fitness base, then ascend to Huoshao Mountain. Afterward, make your way down and follow the trail to the path above Zhazidong, leading you to Lingyun Road again.
- Continue along Lingyun Road, passing Meiyuan and Zhuangzhi Road, before reaching the Meilin Parking Lot. Return along the same route back to the starting point at Martyrs’ Cemetery Station.
